Cambridge, Mass. - January 30, 2007 - The MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge today announced the companies to be showcased during the luncheon session of its Brave New Web conference, which will be held February 7, 2007 at Boston's Hotel Colonnade.

The "Demo Lunch" session will give Web startups an opportunity to present their products or services to attendees. These startups feature business models that integrate pioneering use of next-generation Web technology.

"There's a tremendous amount of Web innovation occurring in the New England region and it warrants recognition," said David Beisel, principal at Masthead Venture Partners and conference co-chair. "We've selected seven companies that are each offering unique services to end-users, and all are forward-thinking startups leveraging the Web in pioneering ways."

The following companies will present demos of their products:

Compete
Compete.com (www.compete.com) is the first website to offer free premium Web analytics to interactive marketers, small businesses and consumers. The platform leverages the cellular telephone network and enables users to subscribe to, access, publish, share and consume short form audio programming from virtually any cell phone. The system features the very rapid propagation of programming from the creator to the consumer.

PawSpot
PawSpot (www.pawspot.com) is a virtual pet park - a place where pet owners can invite existing friends, make new friends and engage the community to set up play dates, sit for each others' pets, recommend veterinarians, find pet-friendly events and more.
