CHEN PR Clients Selected as CEO Finalists for 2006 Mass Technology Leadership Awards

Authoria and Phase Forward Senior Executives Cited for Leadership and Business Excellence

Waltham, Mass. - August 7, 2006 - CHEN PR today announced three of the firm's clients have been chosen as finalists for CEO of the Year as part of the Mass Technology Leadership Council's (MTLC) 2006 awards. The finalists, submitted by CHEN PR and representing two of the six cited overall, include Tod Loofbourrow, CEO of Authoria® Inc. and Bob Weiler, CEO of Phase Forward, Inc. The awards program honors individuals who best exemplify leadership and excellence in business and technology, and parallel the Council's mission to promote the success of developing technology companies in the state of Massachusetts.

"CHEN PR is fortunate to work with a broad base of industry leaders across diverse market segments, including life sciences, talent management and enterprise software and security," said Barbara Ewen, CHEN principal and co-founder. "We're very pleased that the leaders of Authoria and Phase Forward are being recognized within the Massachusetts business community for their innovation, leadership and demonstrated momentum."

Authoria helps more than 300 large employers, representing more than 10 million employees, with its talent management solutions. The company's products have been awarded Top Product of the Year by Human Resource Executive Magazine six times, more than any vendor in the history of HR technology. Recognizing a rapidly expanding market opportunity in the field of talent management, Loofbourrow set out to build a complete suite of software tools. Under his leadership the company has seen a 62-percent revenue growth in the last year, and now leads a category that Forrester Research estimates will grow at 20 percent annually.

Phase Forward, Inc. (NASDAQ: PFWD) provides integrated data management solutions for clinical trials and drug safety. Weiler has been instrumental in helping Phase Forward's customers, the world's top pharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies, embrace innovative technology to remove the barriers to safer, more efficient and faster drug trials. Weiler has helped establish Phase Forward as the market leader, counting among its customers 18 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies and more than 230 organizations and regulatory agencies worldwide. Weiler was also instrumental in Phase Forward's acqusition of Lincoln Technologies to strengthen the company's offerings in drug safety.

Winners will be announced at the Mass Technology Leadership Awards banquet on Wednesday, October 11 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. The event will feature a keynote address by Bruce Chizen, CEO of Adobe.
