Company: Kubi Software, Inc. are creators of a new class of business software called Collaborative Email that enables employees, customers and partners to drive business processes easily and securely.

Challenge: Kubi’s founders, including Julio Estrada, former Lotus Notes senior technologist, asked CHEN PR to help launch the company and its next-generation Collaborative Email product. CHEN PR’s assignment was to define and bulletproof messaging, positioning and key differentiators to:

• Successfully introduce the product to the market and generate visibility and brand awareness among key audiences
• Position Kubi’s strengths and differentiators, while ensuring the product is positioned as complementary to large, established players
• Revive interest in email as the most widely used collaborative platform

CHEN PR Strategy: CHEN PR created a two-stage launch to fuel media interest. First, the agency announced Kubi’s funding to introduce the company, define the market opportunity and create awareness. Second, CHEN PR leveraged this momentum and generated maximum exposure for Kubi’s product by securing a coveted on-stage presentation spot at DEMO, and by unleashing an aggressive pre-, onsite, and post-media campaign.

Results: Kubi Software is recognized among key audiences as a new class of collaboration software – receiving widespread business and trade media coverage and top-tier analyst buy-in. At DEMO 2003, Kubi Software received outstanding media interest and visibility, and Julio Estrada was named a DEMOgod. High-level media coverage has included USAToday, The Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report, Forbes, Dow Jones News Service, Associated Press, Business 2.0, The Boston Globe, BusinessWeek.com, CNN.com, San Francisco Chronicle and CNET News.com. Kubi Software has also been recognized as a 2003 Finalist in the PC Magazine Technical Excellence Awards and been named a KMWorld Trend Setting Product. Kubi Software continues to work closely with CHEN PR and has successfully launched its Kubi Server product, and increased business press coverage by announcing new funding and executive hires – reflecting the company’s growth and continued momentum.
