Join Captain America, Robert Kraft & CHEN PR in support of families battling pediatric cancer on #GivingTuesday

This holiday season, CHEN PR is proud to support Christopher’s Haven, a non-profit in Boston that provides accommodations and support for families fighting pediatric cancer in nearby hospitals. Christopher’s Haven holds the distinction of being the only organization of its kind that offers an apartment setting for the entire family, specific programs and activities for children undergoing outpatient treatment, as well as programs for siblings and parents. We’re seeking monetary donations and help spreading the message about Christopher’s Haven.
How did CHEN get involved with Christopher’s Haven? It began this past spring when our partner, Kevin Kosh, and his friend Marc Moschetto decided to attend a Marvel movie marathon culminating in the premiere of Age of Ultron at the local cinema.
They watched eleven movies straight in 27 hours.
The two decided if they were going to spend that much time away from their families, they would make it meaningful. In sticking with the Avengers theme, they raised money for Captain America’s charity of choice, Christopher’s Haven. Chris Evans, famous for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Avengers series, is an ambassador to the charity in his home state.
Kev and Marc raised $6,300 for the charity.
Chris Evans brought Christopher’s Haven into the national spotlight after winning a friendly Super Bowl bet against fellow Marvel superhero, Chris Pratt. People Magazine reported, “instead of betting money, the pair each agreed to visit a children’s charity of the other superhero’s choice if they lost their bet.” Of course, the Patriots, Evan’s hometown team, beat the Seattle Seahawks (duh), Pratt’s team.
At CHEN, we’re encouraging our community to donate to Christopher’s Haven in recognition of #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back following Cyber Monday. This year it takes place on December 1, harnessing the potential of social media to draw global attention and contributions to worthy charities. The #GivingTuesday hashtag represents 30,000+ partners in 68 countries, 15.4 Billion global impressions in print and social media — an estimated 470 percent increase in online donations since its inception four years ago.

Things got more exciting last night when Patriot’s owner, Robert Kraft, pledged $100,000 to match #GivingTuesday donations to Christopher’s Haven.
